Our MissioN
We are an International Group of friendly people on the Costa del Sol, who are passionate about their Classic Cars and enjoy monthly meetings for car related activities.
This year SOL Classic Car Club (SOL CCC) is celebrating twenty years of happy motoring along the beautiful coast of Costa del Sol, neighbouring coasts, and occasional forays further afield on the roads of Andalucia and beyond.
Our members are of many Nationalities, we communicate mainly in English and a little Spanish. Our members are from Torrox stretching along to Malaga, Ronda, Estepona and Gibraltar.
Our Club is open to all who appreciate or own cars of “yesteryear”. Most of our classic cars are at least 25 years old, or models that have been in manufacture for 25 years or more and cars which are a little different. We also welcome American classics and “new” classics.
Meetings and Activities
We meet monthly on the second Wednesday of the month for lunch. An opportunity to appreciate and show off our cars and enjoy socialising with fellow enthusiasts. We organise a midweek run or weekend activities and overnight trips to interesting destinations further afield in Andalucia and beyond.
In the morning of the car runs, we typically meet for breakfast. Most runs are between 100-200 kilometres long and are one day excursions where we explore the coastal and mountainous roads of this beautiful and interesting region of Malaga. The car runs culminate with a great value lunch in one of Andalucia’s many wonderful restaurants.
History
The Car Club was formed by 6 Classic Car enthusiasts who met in a bar called The Streets of London, in La Cala de Mijas, who were looking for something to do with their beloved cars. At the time, there wasn’t an English speaking Car Club in Andalucia and thus the SOL Classic Car Club was born on the 1st of March 2004.
Since then, there has been a constant increase in membership, many kilometres and excursions enjoyed, friendships formed, photographs taken and memories made.
The Present
Due to the effects of both Brexit and Covid, the Car Club has gone through a transformation. Many active members are permanently living here in Andalusia and some of our members are frequently visiting the Costa del Sol as non-Resident members. We are looking to grow our Membership up again.
The Club committee, together with help of volunteer members, organise runs and events throughout the year. Members are encouraged to get involved with suggestions for events or organising outings.
20th Year Anniversary
To mark the 20th Anniversary of our Car Club, we have some celebratory events planned for the year including a ‘Picnic in the Park’, a Summer Party and a Car Display.
